September 3, 2021 by Bárbara SantanaACAFLO was selected to participate in Innovation Eco Program.
Thanks to the management of the Birds and Coffee project, the Association of Agroforestry Producers – Piedra e’ Cachimbo and La Florida (ACAFLO) was selected to participate in the “Innovation Eco” Program. This training program is organized by Impact Hub Caracas and promoted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Small Grants Program of the Global Environment Facility (SGP-GEF). In it, entrepreneurs learn to develop products and services that promote biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability.
At Innovacion Eco in Caracas, Jheizy Oropeza, secretary general of ACAFLO, presented the association’s final project. She described progress made by ACAFLO, their business model, and plans for adapting ACAFLO’s administrative structure as it grows, and she quantified the organization’s social and environmental reach.
In the words of Jheizy, participating in Innovation Eco “was an enriching experience. It helped us to identify ACAFLO’s weak points, how to build a sustainable business model, and to know the approach we should use so that our association contributes both to the environment and to each of our associates.”
